弹力方程式赛车国际设计锦标赛

(Formula E Design Championship)

 

        这是一项以创意设计为核心内容的皮筋动力车综合设计竞赛，简称“FE”。FE是英文“Formula E”的缩写。与世界著名的F1一级方程式赛车锦标赛相似，其中Formula译为方程式，其含义是“规定”，参加大赛的车辆必须按比赛规则进行设计制作。不同的是，E来自英文Elastic，意为“弹力”，参赛车辆必须使用规定的橡皮筋作为唯一的驱动力。

 

        弹力方程式国际设计锦标赛由世界著名设计院校美国艺术设计中心学院（Art Center College of Design，简称ACCD）于2006 年创办，至今已连续举办13届。这项比赛源自该学院工业设计研究生课程，旨在培养未来全球设计领导者们在战略、产品开发、科学与工程技术、设计、制造、品牌、沟通、以及活动策划方面的综合素质。后发展成为一项激动人心的比赛，一次热情活跃的交流，一场设计的嘉年华，成为未来设计领导者和设计师们提高设计战略能力、实践创新设计思维、锻炼设计综合素质、培养社会责任感的综合性赛事。

 

        每年8 月初，经过13周的准备，参赛选手带着他们精心设计的造型各异的赛车在ACCD 的校园进行比赛，这些车的共同点都是用一根16 英尺长的橡皮筋驱动作为唯一驱动力。大赛共设直线、爬坡和曲线3项单项冠军，两项最佳设计奖和总冠军。另外，参赛学生还需要在大赛期间通过自己的专业能力开展公益活动，以此获得赞助资助自己的比赛活动。

        This is a comprehensive design competition for rubber band powered vehicles with creative design as the core content, referred to as "FE". FE is the abbreviation of "Formula E" in English. Similar to the world-famous F1 Formula One racing championship, Formula means "regulation", and the vehicles participating in must be designed and manufactured according to the rules. The difference is that E comes from the English Elastic, which means "elasticity", and the participating vehicles must use the stipulated rubber band as the only driving force.

 

        The Formula E International Design Championship was founded in 2006 by the Art Center College of Design (ACCD), a world-renowned design school, and has been held for 13 consecutive sessions. Originating from the Institute's Graduate Industrial Design program, the competition aims to develop future global design leaders in strategy, product development, science and engineering, design, manufacturing, branding, communication, and event planning. Later, it developed into an exciting and comprehensive competition, an enthusiastic and active exchange, and a design carnival. It has become a key for future design leaders and designers to improve design strategy capabilities, practice innovative design thinking, exercise comprehensive design quality, and cultivate a sense of social responsibility. 

 

        Every year in early August, after 13 weeks of preparation, the contestants race on the ACCD campus with their well-designed cars of varying shapes, all of which are driven by a 16-foot rubber band as the sole drive force. There are 3 single champions in straight line, climbing and curve, two best design awards and the overall champion. In addition, participating students also need to carry out public welfare activities through their professional abilities during the competition, so as to obtain sponsorship to finance their own competition activities.
